Fetuses may be conscious long before 24 weeks

UK Telegraph reports that fetuses may be conscious long before their 24 week limit on abortions.

Baroness Greenfield, a professor of neurology at Oxford University and the director of the Royal Institution, said there was evidence to suggest the conscious mind could develop before 24 weeks, the upper age where terminations are permitted.

Baroness Greenfield opines,

"Given that we can't prove consciousness or not, we should be very cautious about being too gung ho and assuming something is not conscious. We should err on the side of caution."

Really!?     Indeed.

A Prayer for Peace

Posted yesterday (Ash Wednesday) at GIGO:

A prayer for peace from a solitary voice in the wilderness

I pray that Caesar will punish the wicked and protect the innocent.
I pray that Peter will not hinder Caesar from his appointed tasks, but trust him to show mercy and justice.
I pray that Peter will continue to teach mercy and justice, just in case.
I pray that Caesar will have swift victory over his enemies.
I pray that the Shining City will be a beacon of Truth.

I pray that the innocent will be protected from the Womb of Eve to the Womb of Terra.
I pray for the people of Babylon, whose tyrant chose the spear over bread.
I pray for the people of Chosôn, whose tyrant chose the same.
I pray that the tyrant of Babylon will abdicate and that the tyrant of Chosôn will drop his spear.
I pray that the poor will find bread.

I pray that the sons of Ishmael will realize the Resurrection.
I pray that the sons of Jacob (Israel) will realize the Kingdom has come.
I pray that the princes of Buddha will realize the World is worth living in.
I pray that the maidens of Gaia will realize that there is more beyond the borders of the World.
I pray that the Supermen will realize their God-given souls.

I pray that the Long Lent will end for the Church Universal.
I pray that we will plant the resurrected Tree in the Ash.
I pray that the Shepherds will keep their saltiness.
I pray that new Shepherds will receive the call.
I pray that the flock will not stray.

I pray that the sons of Sodom find chastity.
I pray that the priests of Mammon find the True Lord.
I pray that neighbor will not envy neighbor.
I pray that we will love our enemies.
I pray that my sins will be forgiven.
