I has likewise given up on Dreher. He seems drawn to the traditions (rather than Traditions) of Catholicism in a way that almost seems to be part of a New Age mentality. "Incense and Latin are retro, so they must be cool and liking them must make me holier, so my thinking must be justified." To hell with actual Church teaching, says Dreher, since he never buggered an altar server nor denied anyone a Latin Mass, so I am better/smarter than the bishops and can go my own way.
